Why have I been using watercolors instead of acrylics all these years!?

Really, this was acrylic? Could've fooled me. This did turn out very well. Did you use watercolor for the background mostly and acrlyics for the character? I'm confused, you merged them expertly. :)

The background is actually all acrylic. The character was started with a watercolor wash which I built acrylic up on top of in increasingly thicker layers. I used to use goauche for this sort of thing, but I find acrylics are much bolder.
